Welcome to The Children’s Village and Jendza Early Learning Center.
Our philosophy is based on our ability to implement and understand
developmentally appropriate practice. We nurture young children to
achieve their fullest potential upon entering kindergarten. Our goal
is to teach them life long skills and to foster their social and
emotional progress along with their intellectual curiosity to help
develop them into life long learners and to insure their success in
school.
Based on our knowledge and proven research, as early childhood
educators, we realize the importance of the earliest approaches to
learning in shaping a child for future success. The foundation for
this success is based on the
Rhode
Island Early Learning Standards’ eight domains of learning.
The eight domains that we incorporate into our curriculum and daily
activities consists of; approaches to learning, social and emotional
development, language development and communication, literacy,
mathematics, science, creativity and physical health and
development. Our programs have various ways in applying our
knowledge to teach children by implementing our curriculum in a
variety of contexts and different styles which insures that each
child is taught on an individual level and will have a successful
outcome.
In order for us to facilitate our curriculum, we first become
familiar with each child and their families. We have a personal
interview with the parents and child and each family completes a
social resume about the child which helps us to assess the needs of
the child. We evaluate the child‘s language skills, social
relationships and behaviors. We then will implement the proper tools
to meet their needs. If we are successful in maintaining supportive
relationship between school and home, among adults and children, it
will promote healthy social and emotional development. By using this
method, we have the capacity to support all children and their
families.
